WHY HAVE WE ADDED A PROSTATE SUPPORT SUPPLEMENT TO OUR 50+ RANGE?Whilst the adult prostate begins to enlarge at around 25 years, it is not until men reach 50 years that the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or 'enlargement' begin to show. The symptoms then become more prevalent as men get older. NHS UK states than more than 1 in 3 men over the age of 50 will have some symptoms of prostate enlargement (i.e. various problems with urination). A major factor in the growth of the prostate is DHT, an active form of testosterone. Plant Sterols have been shown to reduce the amount of cholesterol that is converted to testosterone, and studies have shown the plant sterol Beta-sisterol (in particular) to be effective in inhibiting DHT production.
